After becoming the youngest world chess champion at the age of 18, Gukesh said, I am just living my dream. Gukesh registered a historic victory by defeating defending champion Ding Liren of China in the thrilling 14th and last game of the title match full of ups and downs.

During this, Gukesh said that, I was dreaming of this moment for the last 10 years. I am happy that I turned this dream into reality. “I got a little emotional because I didn’t expect to win,” he said. But then I got a chance to move forward. ,

Gukesh further said, “I was dreaming of this moment and living it since I was six-seven years old. Every chess player wants to live this moment. I am living my dream. I want to thank God for the journey from Candidates to Championship.” The Indian star also praised his rival Liren.

He said about Ding that, for me Ding is a world champion. He played like a true champion. I feel sorry for Ding and his team. I want to thank my opponent.

Talking about the contribution of his parents, Gukesh said, “For them, the dream of winning the World Chess Championship is bigger than my dream. “It took me time to realize that I had made a big mistake,” Liren said. I think I played my best tournament of the year. Gukesh said, I could have done better but in the end it is a fair result after the defeat. I have no regrets.
