The Enforcement Directorate on Tuesday questioned Karabari and Congress Priyanka Gandhi’s husband Robert Vadra in the money laundering case related to the Haryana land deal. However, Vadra termed the agency’s summons political vengeance. He said that during interrogation, he has spent hours with the ED, shared thousands of pages, but still the agency is raising cases against them. I am neither going to come under any pressure nor afraid of anyone.
56 -year -old Robert Vadra walked two kilometers from his residence in Sujan Singh Park in Central Delhi to ED Headquarters on APJ Abdul Kalam Road. Speaking to reporters outside the ED office, he alleged, ‘This is nothing but political vengeance. Whenever I speak for minorities, they try to stop me, try to crush us. He also tried to stop Rahul in Parliament. This is the misuse of agencies and is political vengeance. I will cooperate with them as before. ‘
Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate summoned Robert Vadra for the second time in the land deal case. He reached the ED office on Tuesday morning under Saman. The first ED summoned him to appear on 8 April. However, they could not appear then. According to sources, the investigating agency recorded Vadra’s statement under the Money Prevention Act (PMLA). What is the matter?
In fact, the ED on Tuesday sent summons to Robert Vadra in connection with the money laundering investigation related to Shikohpur land deal in Haryana. Vadra did not attend the earlier summons, which was released on 8 April. He was asked to appear before the ED for questioning, as the Central Investigation Agency is investigating alleged financial irregularities related to his firm Skylight Hospitality. According to the ED, Robert Vadra’s company bought a 3.5 -acre plot from Omkareshwar Properties in February 2008 for Rs 7.5 crore in Shikohpur, Gurgaon. I don’t need to hide anything: Vadra
With this, while going to the ED office, Robert Vadra said that the government is taking action under revenge. I don’t know what the mistake is. I do not need to hide anything from anyone. I have not done anything wrong. Investigation agencies are being misused against me. All this is being done to bother and trap me. There is nothing in this case. I have been called 15 times in the last 20 years and every time more than 10 hours were questioned. I have submitted 23000 documents. Whatever will be asked to me, everyone will tell them.
He said, ‘When I speak in favor of the country, I am stopped. Rahul is prevented from speaking in Parliament. The BJP is doing this. This is political vengeance. People love me and want me to join politics. When I express my desire to join politics, they raise old issues to drop me down and divert attention from real issues. ‘
Had expressed his desire to join politics
Earlier, Robert Vadra had expressed his desire to join politics. He had said that if the Congress party feels that they should take this step, then they will take this step with the blessings of their family. In a special conversation with ANI, Vadra had said that his association with politics is largely due to his connection with the Gandhi family. In the last few years, many political parties have tried to draw him into political discussions and often during elections or other issues their names are used to distract attention.
