Giddarbaha: Ahead of the by-elections to be held in Punjab on November 20, the war of words between the government and opposition leaders has gained momentum. In this series, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Tuesday fiercely targeted Bharatiya Janata Party candidate Manpreet Singh Badal from Gidderbaha. He also targeted State Congress President Amarinder Singh Raja Wadding. CM Mann accused both the leaders of ‘doing nothing’ while representing Gidderbaha assembly constituency for a total of 29 years. He said that the leaders of traditional parties have repeatedly betrayed the people of the area.
Mann appealed to make Dhillon win
Campaigning for Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Hardeep Singh ‘Dimpy’ Dhillon from Gidderbaha, Mann said Manpreet Badal and Raja Wadding represented the seat for 29 years, but they did ‘something’ for the people of the region. Didn’t do it.’ Bhagwant Mann claimed that the people of Gidderbaha cannot be easily misled as they know that the leaders of the traditional parties have betrayed them time and again. Appealing to the voters to make Dhillon victorious in the elections, Mann said that the people of Giddarbaha now have a chance to elect a candidate who is their own.
Amrita Wadding is in the fray from Congress
Let us tell you that this assembly seat became vacant after Raja Vading was elected to the Lok Sabha from Ludhiana in the parliamentary elections held earlier this year. BJP has fielded Manpreet Badal from Gidderbaha, while Congress has made Wadding’s wife Amrita Wadding its candidate. Addressing the public at Khidkianwala, Harike Kalan, Kotali Ablu and Bentabad, Mann said politics should be done only on the basis of work, which AAP has done ‘extraordinarily’ in the last 2.5 years. Let us tell you that by-elections will be held for 4 assembly seats of Punjab, Gidderbaha, Dera Baba Nanak, Chabbewal and Barnala on November 20, while the counting of votes will take place on November 23.
