Kartik Aaryan Starrer Chandu Champion, India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, trailer release; Film hits on theatre on June 14

Chandu Champion:

The trailer for Kartik Aaryan’s film “Chandu Champion” was launched on Saturday in Kartik’s hometown of Gwalior. The movie, inspired by the life of India’s first Paralympic gold medalist, Murlikant Petkar, follows Kartik’s journey from a young man to a soldier, a boxer, and ultimately, a survivor. It depicts Kartik Aaryan as a man determined to excel and distinguish himself from a young age.

The trailer delves into the life of Murlikant Petkar who secured a gold medal at the 1972 Summer Paralympics in Germany, portraying the titular character at different ages and stages, from aspiring to be a champion in his village, joining the Indian Army, excelling in sports, to being shot during the 1965 war. Despite being riddled with bullets, Chandu refuses to surrender and overcomes all obstacles. The trailer also features Kartik Aaryan as an elderly man who wants to file a case against the President of India while displaying his medals.

Director Kabir Khan unveiled “Chandu Champion” . The latest posters of the film feature Kartik Aaryan with a ripped physique, and Kabir Khan revealed that Kartik reduced his body fat from 39 percent to 7 percent for the role.

The story of Chandu Champion is incredibly inspiring, but Kartik’s journey to become this champion is equally motivating. When I first met him, he had gained weight for a previous role and had 39 percent body fat. I told him he needed to portray an international-level multi-disciplinary athlete. He just smiled and said, ‘I will do it, Sir.

“Chandu Champion” hits theaters on June 14.
