Indian States High Fertility Rate: If we are asked which country is the most populous in the world, then till now we had been taking the name of China, but now it has not been so. We have reached the top of this list. Talking about the data of an agency of United Nations, India has reached 142.86 crore, while China has a population of 142.57 crores. Out of which two states of India are at the forefront of producing children. But even after this, two South leaders are talking about increasing the population in South India. Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin appealed to have more than two children. Since this statement of both, there has been a debate in India.
Why the slogan to produce more children in South India
Leaders of the states of South India believe that if the population is not balanced by 2031 compared to North India, then their representation in Parliament will be reduced and their impact will be less in any decision for the country. Chandrababu Naidu says that only old people are left in the villages of Andhra Pradesh, while we need young people for work. Not only this, Chandrababu takes it as a problem, due to which many countries of Europe are facing. Many countries of Europe, including Korea and Japan, are struggling with the problem of fertility rate and old age.
Signs of decline in population
In the 70s, governments launched a family planning campaign to curb the growing population in the country. Then there was fierce publicity in the city and villages for family planning methods. But the states of South had adopted this policy earlier. Tamil Nadu in 1993, Andhra Pradesh in 2001 and 2005 Karnataka also joined this policy. According to the data of the National Family Health Survey, the total fertility rate is 2.1 in the country at this time, but in the states of South, this rate has reached below 1.75. Experts believe that if this continues, the population will decrease rapidly.
These two states of the country are at the forefront of producing children
