The Trudeau government of Canada has given a big blow to Indian professionals who want to go to Canada and get a job. Actually, the Canadian government has made major changes in its express immigration system. In this, the rules of the Comprehensive Ranking System that determine the eligibility of the candidates have been changed. Under the new rules, no extra marks will be given to the candidates for getting a job offer. The new rules will come into effect in the year 2025.

Who will be affected by this change?
The changes to the Comprehensive Ranking System will impact people who intend to permanently immigrate to Canada under the Express Entry system. These rules will also apply to those who are already working temporarily in Canada. The Government of Canada has said that ‘when the new rules come into force, they will apply to candidates who have been offered a job, as well as those new to the candidate pool.’
Objective to stop illegal immigration
The Government of Canada says these changes are temporary and are intended to deter people from coming to Canada fraudulently and curb fraudulent immigration practices. Canadian Immigration Minister Mark Miller said, ‘By cracking down on fraudulent immigration, we are encouraging the skilled workforce to come to Canada, so that our country’s economy can improve.’ He said that ‘Immigration has always been an important part of Canada’s success and we would like to continue bringing talented professionals to Canada so that everyone can get the good jobs, housing and help they want.’
