Andhra Pradesh government announced the new Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) Board. BR Naidu has been made its president. While assuming charge, newly appointed President Naidu said that his priority is to provide VRS to people of other religions.
‘I feel lucky’
BR Naidu said, ‘I feel fortunate to have been appointed as the Chairman of TTD. I was born and brought up in Chittoor district. We used to go to Tirumala often. I thank Chandrababu Naidu and NDA leaders for appointing me. I consider this an important turning point in my life.
I have not been to Tirumala even once in five years: Naidu
He said, ‘The previous government has made a lot of mistakes there. I have not visited Tirumala even once in five years because I felt that it lacked sanctity. Earlier I used to go to Tirumala five-six times a year. I have discussed these issues with CM Chandrababu Naidu. My intention is there just to work, not with the intention of achieving anything. I will talk to the government about people of other religions working in Tirumala, whether they should be sent to other departments or given VRS.
The newly appointed chairman said, ‘The new committee is doing better work than the previous committee. There is no problem now. Last month, TTD had organized ‘Brahmotsavam’… I will try (to bring change).
It is noteworthy that the Andhra Pradesh government issued an order on Wednesday giving details of the composition of the new board. The board also includes members from other states. The new board includes three members from Karnataka, five from Telangana, two from Tamil Nadu and one each from Gujarat and Maharashtra.
