Bomb threat email on May 23, 2024 puts three Bengaluru hotels on high alert, prompt bomb squad deployment

Bomb Threat email:

On May 23, Bengaluru faced a security scare when three prominent hotels, including The Ottera, received bomb threat emails. Authorities promptly responded, with Bomb Squad teams and city police quickly arriving at The Ottera hotel in the south-eastern part of the city, according to ANI.

According to DCP South East Bengaluru, a bomb threat email was sent to three well-known hotels in the city, including The Oterra, as reported by ANI.

This threat comes a day after when Delhi experienced a security alert on Wednesday afternoon when the Union Home Ministry’s office at North Block received a bomb threat. This news flourished like a fire and everyone was very dreaded but later this news turned out to be a hoax as per the report by ANI.

The incident took place around 3:30 pm when a bomb threat email was received at the high-security complex housing key ministries and offices. Authorities quickly responded to the potential threat by dispatching two fire tenders from the Delhi Fire Service (DFS) to the location, according to ANI.

In April, the similar chaos was occurred. There was quite a scare when bomb threat emails landed in the inboxes of several schools across Delhi-NCR, Jaipur, Uttar Pradesh, and Bengaluru. It caused quite a commotion, but thankfully, it turned out to be just a false alarm as the case of north block-Delhi.

The Delhi High Court got involved, asking for a thorough rundown of what went down. The Delhi Police stepped up and provided a report on May 17, outlining their response efforts. They mentioned deploying five bomb disposal squads and 18 bomb detection teams all around the city to ensure safety.

As a safety precaution, thorough searches were conducted throughout the North Block premises in Delhi as well as three hotels in Bengaluru with security personnel and bomb disposal squads. They are carefully inspecting every corner. Fortunately, as of now, no suspicious items have been discovered, which brings some relief during this tense time as per the report.
