BOOM, in its fact check, found that the viral picture has been edited with the claim of Delhi’s roads being in bad condition after the rains.

In view of Delhi elections, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) shared an edited picture of a dilapidated road, targeting the Aam Aadmi Party. Along with this it was claimed that after a little rain, see the condition of the roads of Delhi.

BOOM found that the viral photo is edited. The original photo was shared on the Getty Images website on September 30, 2024, which did not have potholes like the viral photo.
It is written on the top of the viral picture, ‘AAP’s lies are roads like London-Paris, Delhi’s truth is potholes on the roads.’ In the picture, it is written at the bottom along with BJP’s election symbol, ‘Now we will not tolerate, we will change.’

To know the authenticity of the viral picture, we did a reverse image search of the keyframe of the biker. Photo stock website via getty images But we found the original picture uploaded on September 30, 2024. We found that in this picture there are no potholes on the road like the viral picture.
According to Getty Images, this photo was taken by journalist Sanchit Khanna on September 30, 2024. Then Delhi Chief Minister Atishi along with PWD officials had come to inspect the roads near the Outer Ring Road in Kalkaji.
During inspection, potholes were seen on the road near NSIC Complex. Atishi inspected the roads and directed the officials to make Delhi pothole free by Diwali.
However, apart from the potholes, there are some other differences between the viral picture and the original picture. But it is clear that the viral picture has been created by editing this picture.
