People of Delhi may soon get big news regarding Ayushman Yojana. Under the Ayushman scheme in Delhi, treatment up to Rs 5 lakh can be given the green signal. These funds were allocated to various states so that they could improve their basic health services and treat people under the Ayushman scheme.

But since the Ayushman scheme is not applicable in Delhi, and taking money under this scheme would have forced the Delhi government to allow treatment to people under the Ayushman scheme, it is believed that to avoid this, the Delhi government has taken steps till now. She was refusing to move ahead with this plan. But the court has made it clear that now the Delhi government will have to move ahead with this plan. There can be no compromise on people’s healthcare. According to the information, the Delhi government has been instructed to move ahead with this scheme even if the code of conduct is imposed.

BJP was attacking the Delhi government for not implementing Ayushman Yojana in Delhi. His allegation was that the Arvind Kejriwal-Atishi Marlena government is not allowing the Ayushman scheme to be implemented in Delhi, due to which the people of Delhi are suffering huge economic loss as people are being deprived of treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh. BJP alleged that Kejriwal government does not want to allow this scheme to be implemented only because of political rivalry as BJP is expected to benefit from it.

The uproar over the Ayushman scheme had even reached the court’s doorstep, where the court had asked the Delhi government as to what objection it had to the implementation of the Ayushman scheme. However, the Delhi government was continuously arguing that it had better alternative plans. There is a restriction of age and income limit in Ayushman Yojana, whereas there is no restriction for getting treatment in Delhi government hospitals.

Now what happened

BJP MPs Ramveer Singh Bidhuri and Ms. Bansuri Swaraj said that the Delhi High Court has instructed the Kejriwal-Atishi Marlena government that an MOU should be signed between the Health Department of Delhi and the Health Department of the Central Government by January 5, 2025. Under the Prime Minister Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-Abhim Yojana), the way has been opened to get hospitals, labs and other facilities available in Delhi. An amount of more than Rs 2406 crore was sanctioned under this scheme to provide health infrastructure in Delhi.

Bansuri Swaraj said that the second aspect of Ayushman Yojana is PM-Abhim Yojana. Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat is an infrastructure mission which was announced in February 2021. Under this scheme, money is being allocated so that upgradation can be done in the health structure. Rs 2406.77 crore has been allocated for Delhi. Delhi government was not moving ahead on this plan till now. But now Delhi High Court has directed him to move ahead on this. With this, the way has been cleared for the people of Delhi to get the benefits of Ayushman Yojana.
