In Bihar, the team of the Surveillance Department is raiding seven locations of a District Education Officer in four districts. On Thursday, the surveillance department raided the residence of West Champaran DEO Rajnikant Praveen in Bettiah. The surveillance team has also raided his in-laws house in Samastipur. Investigation is also going on at his wife’s school in Darbhanga. Similar investigation is going on in Madhubani also. Complaints were continuously being received against District Education Officer Rajnikant Praveen for massive manipulation by colluding with the contractors while purchasing equipment and getting the work done in summersable etc. in government schools. These complaints were noticed by the surveillance and when the investigation started, seeing innumerable bundles of notes, a machine had to be called for counting.

Raid in rented house in Bettiah
A team of surveillance department officials has been investigating the rented house located on Bettiah Sariswa Road since morning. The surveillance department team has recovered a huge amount of cash and a machine has also been called for counting the notes. The surveillance department has not formally clarified in which case this raid is being conducted. A large number of police forces have been deployed in view of security during the raid being conducted on a residence located near Railway Dhala under Mufassil police station area. The raid is ongoing and department officials are present at the spot. The local administration has made adequate arrangements to maintain law and order in the area.
Connection between wife and sister-in-law in Samastipur
On the other hand, the surveillance team is also raiding the in-laws’ house located in Bahadurpur in Samastipur. District Education Officer’s mother-in-law Nirmala Sharma is a retired teacher. His wife and sister-in-law are also working as teachers in two different schools in Samastipur district. The wife was also running a private school.
The team also reached wife’s school in Darbhanga
Rajinikanth Praveen had held the post of DPP in Darbhanga. Here Praveen’s wife Sushma Kumari has taken up the branch of Birla Open Mind. On Thursday also the surveillance team reached here to conduct raids. It is said that along with cash, documents related to house, house and land are also being found from different locations of DEO. So far, information about recovery of Rs 1.87 lakh in cash has come to light. Early in the morning, a six-member team of the surveillance department reached the Birla Open Mind School campus located at Jeevach Ghat in Sadar police station area of Darbhanga and started investigation. School director Dr. Sushma Kumari was not found there. Academic Director Amit Kumar said that a six-member monitoring team that came from Patna early today morning is looking at the accounts of income and expenditure.
