Ayushmann Khurrana’s poem on Kolkata doctor rape-murder case on 9th August, every word will shake your heart

Poem on Kolkata "Abhaya Case":

On August 9th, there was a tragic rape and murder of a doctor in Kolkata, which Ayushmann Khurrana describes in his poem as powerful and emotional. The downside is that society has deep-seated violence against females as depicted by his composition amplified by sorrow and reflection, thus requesting for transformation.

The poem was touching; it evoked sorrow because there was so much pain in it; there had been unfairness that needed to be addressed; and there was such an urge for change within it. Every word feels like an outcry against this background of fuming passion in calling attention towards gender security and honor. The piece celebrates her memory but also prompts us towards building fairer, compassionate societies.

Ayushmann’s poem on Kolkata ‘Abhaya incident’

Ayushmann often expresses his views on the country’s issues in his own way. He is known for reacting to social issues through his art. Sometimes he reacts to social issues through films and sometimes with the help of his songs and poems. Now he is seen expressing his pain through his art on the ‘Abhaya incident’ of Kolkata, the title of which is ‘Kaash! Main Bhi Ladka Hoti’.

Ayushmann Khurrana’s poem

Ayushmann has shared a video on Instagram, in which he is seen reciting this sad poem. In the video, Ayushmann says- ‘I would also sleep without latching the door, I wish I was also a boy. I would run around with friends all night like a girl, I wish I was also a girl. I have heard everyone say that educate girls, empower them and when they become doctors after studying, my mother would not have lost the pearl of her eyes, I wish I was also a boy.’

I wish I were a boy

‘The 36-hour work was difficult, there was boycott, rape, there was an encounter with the barbarity of men. I wish those men had some womanly tenderness. I wish I was a boy. They say there was no CCTV, what would have happened if there was. How pure would have been the eyes of the male security guard who kept an eye on her? I wish I was a boy. If I were a boy, maybe I would have been alive today.’

What is the matter?

It is known that on 9 August, a 31-year-old trainee doctor was found dead in Kolkata’s RG Medical College. After which it was revealed that the female doctor was raped and then murdered. In this case, a civil volunteer has been arrested on 10 August and the investigation of the rape case and murder has been handed over to the CBI.

A Call to Action:

Ayushmann’s poem, on the other hand, conveys a call for action. Specifically, it urges persons to know themselves, their rights and be able to defend them. Still, Ayushmann’s poem provides a deepening understanding of the fact that it is only when every person will stand-up against injustices meted on citizens that we can exercise our rights.

Conclusion: A Poem That Will Stay With Us:

Ayushmann Khurrana’s poem on the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case is more than just words but is a call to action towards justice and humanity. It demonstrates how art can deal with societal problems by using sorrow that is shared by people at once to advocate for change. Its aim is not only to move you but also keep you thinking about joining others in transforming our world.
