Aarti was performed at the Shiva temple on Sunday morning in the temple which opened after 46 years in Sambhal district of Uttar Pradesh. The temple was discovered during an anti-encroachment operation conducted by the district police and administration on Saturday.

Police security has been deployed outside the temple, which reopened on December 14. The temple premises have been cleaned and electricity has been arranged. CCTV cameras have also been installed here.
Temple opened after 46 years of Muslim population
A temple locked for 46 years was found in Khaggu Sarai, a Muslim dominated locality of Sambhal. DM and SP got the doors of the temple opened under their supervision on Saturday. ASP Shreeshchandra and CO Anuj Chaudhary cleaned the temple with their own hands.
After this, the well built in the temple premises was also dug, which was filled after the closure of the temple. Actually, this temple was closed after the exodus of Hindus due to the riots in 1978. DM Dr. Rajendra Pansia said that information was received that there is an ancient temple in Khaggu Sarai area.
