Wholesale Price Inflation Rices to 2.38 pc in February, as against 2.31 pc in January: Govt Data – Amar Ujala Hindi News Live

In February, the wholesale price inflation rate i.e. wholesale inflation rate increased to 2.38 percent. It was 2.31 percent in January. This information was given in the government data released on Monday. According to the government data released on Monday, the positive rate of inflation in February 2025 is mainly due to the increase in manufacturing prices of food products, food items, other manufacturing, non-food items and textile manufacturing etc. In a survey, economists estimated wholesale price inflation to be 2.36%.

Wholesale food inflation declined from 7.47% to 5.94% in January last month. Inflation of primary items declined from 4.69 percent in January to 2.81 percent in February.

Meanwhile, fuel and electricity bulk prices decreased by 0.71 percent last month, compared to 2.78 percent in January. The prices of manufactured products increased by 2.86 percent in February, compared to 2.51 percent last month.

According to data released earlier this month by the Center, India’s retail inflation came to a seven -month low of 3.61% in February, which was 4.31% in January. The decline was mainly due to a decrease in food prices, with food inflation- which is about half of the consumer price index (CPI) basket- fell from 5.97% to 3.75% in February to 3.75% in February.
