A five-year-old child fell into an open borewell in Nangal area of Dausa district of Rajasthan on Monday afternoon. As soon as information about the incident was received, police and administrative officials started rescue operations. Efforts are on to rescue the child safely.
Nangal area officer Charu Gupta said that the child fell into a 150 feet deep open borewell due to his feet slipping while playing in the field. He told that there was no lid on the borewell, due to which this accident occurred. The rescue team immediately reached the spot and started efforts to rescue the child safely. According to officials, the child is being supplied oxygen through pipes and his movements are being monitored through cameras inserted in the borewell.

District Magistrate Devendra Kumar and other administrative officials have also reached the spot and are monitoring the rescue work. He told, “The child is about 150 feet deep, he is being given oxygen continuously. The medical team is present on the spot. SDRF, NDRF and Civil Defense teams have reached the spot. Excavation is being done with JCB. Rescue Efforts are being made to ensure that the child’s condition is fine.
Such an accident happened in Barmer
A few days ago, a four-year-old child fell into an open borewell in Guda Malani area of Barmer district of Rajasthan and died. This incident took place in Arjun ki Dhani of Gudamalani area, where child Naresh had fallen into a 25-30 feet deep borewell while playing. After the incident, the family members immediately started rescue operations and informed the police. After this, a rescue team was sent from the district headquarters. The rescue team took the child out of the borewell after about three hours of hard work, but by then he had died.
