AICWA, which works for the safety of artists and workers of the Indian film industry, has termed the death of a 32-year-old crew member on the sets of ‘Anupama’ as murder. He said that due to the negligence of the producers, production house and channel, the institutional murder of the crew member took place. Appealed for justice from CM Eknath Shinde
It has been told in the letter that this incident happened on November 14 at around 9:30 pm. Electrical shock occurred due to faulty and poorly maintained equipment on the set. Despite such a tragic incident, the shooting continued till midnight and resumed at regular time the next day. An FIR has been registered against the electrical contractor for negligence. Now, AICWA has appealed to the CM to register an FIR under section 302 of the IPC against all responsible parties. They want the authorities to punish the producer, production house, channel and officials for this accident. As compensation, the production team should pay Rs 1 crore to the family of the deceased employee. Furthermore, strict safety protocols should be implemented on the sets and the shooting of Rupali Ganguly’s serial should be stopped until justice is served.
