The impact of the split in the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is now visible on the Diwali celebrations of the Pawar family. For the first time, Sharad Pawar and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will organize separate Diwali celebrations. Ajit Pawar will celebrate Diwali at his home village Katewadi, while Sharad Pawar will host Diwali celebrations at his Govindbagh residence. Earlier, the Deputy Chief Minister used to attend Sharad Pawar’s Diwali celebrations.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar posted on Twitter that he will organize Diwali Padwa celebrations at his native village Katewadi in Baramati at 6:30 pm on Saturday, where he will meet residents and NCP officials.

NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar has organized Diwali celebrations at his Govindbagh residence. Where apart from family members, party officials, friends of opposition leaders will also gather.

Ajit used to celebrate Diwali in Govindbagh before party split.

According to party officials, before the NCP split in July last year, Ajit Pawar used to attend programs at Govindbagh. He said, ‘As people come from all over the state to wish Pawar Saheb, we eagerly wait for this happy day.’

Was not aware of Deputy CM’s program: Sule

Speaking on the issue, Sharad Pawar’s daughter and Lok Sabha MP from Baramati Supriya Sule said she was not aware of the event organized by the deputy CM. However, he said that everyone waits for the function organized in Govindbagh.

This year’s Diwali celebration is important

Diwali celebrations assume significance in view of the Maharashtra Assembly elections this year, which will see a high voltage contest between Ajit Pawar and his nephew and NCP (SP) candidate Yugendra Pawar in Baramati. Earlier, there had been competition between the families in the Lok Sabha elections. After the party split, an interesting contest was seen between Ajit Pawar’s wife Sunetra Pawar and sitting MP Supriya Sule.

Last year NCP was divided into two groups

Let us tell you that last year Ajit Pawar had joined the Eknath Shinde government with eight MLAs, after which the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) broke away. Later, the Election Commission recognized Deputy CM Ajit’s faction as the real NCP and gave it the election symbol ‘clock’, while naming the Sharad Pawar faction as NCP (SP). The election symbol of this party is ‘man flying tuatari’.
