Hosting can be available till 2026
The 2028 Olympic Games are to be held in the US and 2032 in Australia. The hosting of the 2036 Olympic Games is not decided yet, the International Olympic Committee can take a decision on hosting by 2026 or 2027. Apart from India, Saudi Arabia, Poland, Indonesia, Mexico and Qatar are also contenders for hosting.

Before the President, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also expressed his desire to host the Olympic Games in his speech on August 15. He is confident that the country can host a show-piece event like the Olympics. Modi had said, “It is India’s dream to host the 2036 Olympic Games. We have also started preparing for it.”

Murmu played badminton with Nehwal
Recently, the President played badminton with shuttler Saina Nehwal, who won an Olympic medal for India. He also posted his photo with Nehwal on social media. Both were playing badminton in the Rashtrapati Bhavan itself.
