Bill Walton, the famous basketball player passed away at 71 on Monday 27th May,2024.

Bill Walton won two national titles at UCLA and also won two NBA championships with Portland and Boston. His name was inducted into the Hall of Fame basketball centre.

Walton ,6 foot 11 inch tall, played under the legendary coach John Wooden at UCLA. He led the Bruins to national championships in 1972 and 1973, both with perfect 30-0 seasons.

He earned NBA regular-season and Finals MVP and a spot on the NBA’s 50th and 75th Anniversary Teams.

He led the team to its only NBA championship in 1977 and was named the NBA Finals MVP for his performance.

Walton was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993.

Walton's career was hindered by injuries. He struggled with foot and knee injuries and was undergone nearly 40 orthopedic surgeries in his career life span.

Walton had a successful broadcasting career after retiring from basketball. Despite his stuttering problem, he made his second carrier a very cheerful and successful.

Marty Glickman, a friend of Walton, assisted to overcome speech impediment when Walton was 28.

Walton was surrounded by his wife Lori and four sons. His son, Luke Walton, won two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, making them the first father-son duo to achieve multiple NBA championships.
